The uniT DRAMA FORUM promotes the production of contemporary dramatic texts. Making it possible to hear, see and experience them and thus continuing the Styrian authors tradition.
DRAMA FORUM projects:
The Retzhofer Drama Prize: This is presented every two years and has the role of a working and presentation platform for young writers of texts for performance. The contributions selected are accompanied artistically for a full year. The link that is created here between the development of a dramatic text and a competition increases the chances of the participants being noticed by the theatre world and having their work performed, as many successful examples have shown: Jörg Albrecht, Natascha Gangl, Ewald Palmetshofer, Johannes Schrettle, Gerhild Steinbuch, Christian Winkler and others.
FORUM Text: a two year artistic accompaniment for talented young writers through discussion, expert inputs, individual mentoring and work ateliers. FORUM Text is unique in its intensity and exclusivity in the German speaking world as an artistic accompaniment for writers. The provision content is thought through and renewed on a biennial basis. The participants overlap to some extent with participants in the Retzhofer Drama Prize.
WORK ATELIERS: The writers work together with directors and actors and then open up their working process for the audience, whose opinions and commentaries are important for the further development of the product. Three ateliers are organised each year. Prominent authors such as Peter Waterhouse also work in this project.
The DRAMA FORUM has its own homepage providing more information and all the latest news.
